No processo de assistência à saúde, a confiança que os pacientes, cuidadores e redes de apoio depositam no provedor de saúde desempenha um papel importante. Essa confiança pode ser perdida pela interposição de Conflitos de Interesse (CDI), que são descritos como condições em que o objetivo primário do profissional (atenção à saúde ou integridade científica) é alterado por um objetivo secundário, econômico ou não.
