Abstract

Selenium has been shown to have beneficial effects on human health, such as strengthening of the immune system, anti-inflammatory effects and decreased lipoxidation. Moreover, its deficiency can cause diseases such as Keshan disease and Kashin-Beck disease, which have a mortality of approximately 50%. The objective of this article is to identify and summarize the functions and advantages of consuming selenium-enriched egg on human health.
