Variabilidade dietética e intervenção educomunicativa em escolares com obesidade e sobrepeso: um estudo não randomizado

Resumo

Antecedentes: a prevalência global de sobrepeso e obesidade em escolares tem aumentado drasticamente. 

Objetivo: avaliar o impacto de uma intervenção educativa na variabilidade dietética dos cuidadores de crianças com obesidade e sobrepeso utilizando a ferramenta “Meu Prato”.

Métodos: estudo descritivo, longitudinal, com 60 cuidadores de crianças com obesidade e sobrepeso. Compreendeu três etapas: 1. Determinação da variabilidade dietética basal; 2. Intervenção educativa baseada na ferramenta “Meu Prato”; 3. Avaliação da variabilidade dietética pós-intervenção. Na análise das variáveis quantitativas, foram aplicadas a média, a mediana e o desvio padrão. A distribuição dos dados foi avaliada pelo teste de Shapiro-Wilk e para a homogeneidade de variância foi utilizado o teste de Levene. Na análise da diferença de médias foi utilizado o teste T de Student, considerando significância estatística ≤ 0,05. O programa estatístico utilizado foi o SPSS. v15.00.

Resultados: a variabilidade dietética aumentou após a intervenção educacional p < 0,001. A variabilidade dietética global média pré-intervenção de 8,2 foi menor do que a pós-intervenção de 9,8 com 95 % de confiança (valor de p < 0,001).

Conclusões: verificou-se que a intervenção educativa com a ferramenta “Meu Prato” nos cuidadores de crianças em condição de obesidade e sobrepeso melhora a variabilidade dietética.
